What I Live For

As time gets away from me every year I always find myself reflecting on the days when my girls were both small. I think I thought somehow they would always be little people and never grow up. Time did appear to drag when they were babies especially all those sleepless nights. It's almost as if you wake up one day and they are semi grown up and don't need you. Oh, how I miss bathing them, washing their hair and tucking them in at night. Sometimes more than once.
I couldn't wait for life to get easier. Little did I know that it was easier back then, so much easier. There is no going back so I must embrace the fact that they are still at home with me and I get the next couple years to be their mommy in a way they need me.   I will really enjoy these moments.
Nothing makes me happier than my children. They are by far my greatest accomplishment in my life.

My Birthday

My Birthday weekend has come and gone. A very dear friend and her husband took Larry and I to a fantastic dinner Friday night. We had crab, lobster, grass fed beef and lamb. Delicious salads and sides. White and red wine and ended with chocolate cake and ice cream. I was content as a pig in mud. Thank you Mila & Lyle.

My birthday day was nice. Slept in. Enjoyed Starbucks coffee :)

I was disappointed I didn't get to see I'll have Another run in the Belmont but the race was great. I laid in bed with my baby and watched basketball.
I wanted to watch the fight but I couldn't keep my eyes open to watch it and was disappointed in the outcome.
My sweet Layci bought me a book. I love books. I enjoy reading.
My weekend ended picking Jordan up from officer dance camp in Houston..
I even worked Sunday evening at my new job. Overall it was a great weekend and I'm thankful to all my friends and family who thought about me. I'm well into my 40's journey now and looking forward to what is next.
